Don't try to put me in a bucket!

Don't try to put me in a bucket!

Even if you try you won't succeed! This happens almost in every call or meeting with someone that doesn't know me already?

They try to put me in a single bucket - "So, are you a startup founder? or you an investor? board member? what are you actually doing?"

They try to put me in a single sector - "I see you worked at bp and Siemens Energy, so you are a climate tech investor, you do only energy?"

People do it because it's easy for them to logically place me in their brain on where they could engage or collaborate - I get it.

However, I can't put myself in one bucket, and also not in one industry. It's more complicated than that - more interesting too.

I like to do different things, diverse things. I am investing with the funds I work with, I manage a portfolio of board advisor roles, I teach entrepreneurship and strategy, and I build a couple of new ventures as a founder.

I also worked in different industries. I spent 6+ years in defence, 7+ years in medTech and healthtech, 5+ years in Enterprise and consumer software, and 6+ years in energy and climate tech. I advised and mentored more than 500 founders already across areas like fertility and food tech.

The question of who am I is a question I debate with myself every day. For many years, I felt the need to put myself in a bucket, but what I have learnt was that this is who I am. I like wearing different hats, working across industries, working with founders, investors, corporate executives. I like to build and invest in AI, Robotics, climate, bio, defence, consumer and more. I learn, grow and evolve personally with every new role sector I work on.

For some it looks messy, for me it's magic.
